A one-of-a-kind conversion of a sports arena into a place of worship, Lakewood Church has a 16,000 seat sanctuary and space for a 250 member choir. The platform is flanked by beautiful waterfalls and has three large IMAG screens. Extensive acoustical modifications were required for the existing mechanical systems. A five story administrative building was added to house classrooms and a recording studio, and included provisions to add another five levels in the future. The project required the addition of a new main electrical service, two 300 HP boilers for heating, and a cooling plant capacity of 2400 tons, expandable to 3200 tons. Lakewood church is the winner of APEX and Landmark Awards.
