The LDS Conference Center has been heralded as "an architectural miracle" by Architecture Week, as well as winning numerous awards for its design and conceptual planning. Built adjacent to the famous Temple Square, the Conference Center covers a 10 acre, 4 block site. The facility, built for the Church for Latter Day Saints, is a 21,000 seat theater, providing a venue for the Church's elaborate and highly technical productions. Included in the design of the large theater area is a 125 rack pipe organ, and seating for the 158 member General Authorities and the 352 voice Mormon Tabernacle Choir. In addition to the main auditorium, with its record-breaking seating capacity, the 500,000 square foot Conference Center also contains a 900 seat theater, an underground 1,400 car parking structure, broadcasting capabilities, and translation facilities for 100 languages for worldwide broadcast.
