Wiess College was constructed to replace the original building at Rice University. Over two hundred students reside within the four story building, which boasts exterior balconies on three sides of a central Wiess Quadrangle. A new kitchen serves the Wiess Commons as well as a new Hanzen Commons. The roof of the kitchen is designed to be an open terrace for campus activities. Each Commons contains three computer laboratories and has wiring to accommodate minor theatrical productions.
